As a group we analyzed the information we were able to gather on the company. Most of the information was gathered from the store manager, Mary Recto. She was able to break down all the systems and give us the information we needed to study the Lucky Direct system that Lucky Brand is currently using to fulfill their Online Orders and satisfy their online market which is growing exponentially every quarter. Lucky Direct would not have been achieved without the help of Oracle the creator of NetSuite. As a team we developed ideas that could help the system and point out flaws in the system that can occur such as the creation of CPQ Software to help minimize problems and streamline the whole process that takes place from receiving the order to having it delivered to the clients.
Conclusion
We also interviewed Jeremy Stuart, the store’s District manager. He played a huge roll in the roll out of the whole system when it went active a few years ago. He has been with the company for over fifteen years now and was able to tell us about a few issues that occurred with the initial release and how Lucky Brand ended up teaming up with NetSuite. Lucky Direct we would soon be informed by Jeremy was all the idea of the former CEO of the company Carlos Alberini. He knew that in order for the brand to survive for years to come that Lucky Brand needed to embrace technology and the fact that as ordering online became more efficient and in demand that the company had to act quick. He understood that Brick and Mortar stores will need to be included in the system in order to keep them in existence as well. He formed the system to be developed not only with the company as a whole success, but for the stores to be individually successful in the system as well. For every online order placed in store and fulfilled, that store must see a piece of the profit that came from the purchase. It was interesting for the whole team to delve into the information we received on Lucky Direct and the short history behind it as well to understand how it works and how to suggest it can be improved and point out certain flaws we stated earlier in our work.
